Jerry

Who does not love the crazy antics of the mouse from the well-loved animation Tom and Jerry? The plot is as expected. It’s the classic cat versus mouse. However, the twist is that the mouse wins almost every round which is far-fetched reality.

This cat and mouse series was created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. From 1940 to 1957, Tom and Jerry had about 114 shows and during that period, they bagged the Academy Awards for Best Short Subject (Cartoons) not once or twice but seven times.

It may sound alarming but it seems that the more violent the show is the more kids love it. Action movies should be ashamed to be aired back to back with Tom and Jerry. Axes, pistols, explosives, and poison are almost regulars in the show.

Jerry may not have super powers like Mighty Mouse but who needs to fly when you are cunning enough to escape the fate of being a cat’s dinner? Tom’s endless attempts lead to futility much to the delight of the audience. On very rare occasions, Jerry gets to lose a round or two. In a nutshell, Tom’s determination is not even on the same league as Jerry’s wits. Jerry is another mouse character who proves yet again that size does not matter.
